Configuration of Mail Dispatch with STARTTLS raise error LIBS-1803, what configuration we did wrong?

we are trying to setup the mail dispatch for our customer Fondation Patrimoine, the customer gave us the following configuration :
smtp : smtp.office365.com
sécurity : STARTTLS
Port : 587

So we configure it like this

but we get the following error

Connecting to SMTP Server "smtp.office365.com"
12:52:19> <Emails are not allowed> --> To:Emails are not allowed|Cc:|Bcc:|Subject:"Test Sending Email"
12:52:19> Error: Sending Internet Mail Failed: LIBS-1803 Unable to send the message with subject: "Test Sending Email"
SSL negotiation failed.

In the "Internet Option", TLS1.2 and TLS1.3 are activated

Does anybody encountered this error ?
Does STARTTLS supported by MailDispatch ?

Dear Efficy Team,

I've seen the supported DB are, according to the documentation (https://help.efficy.io/edn/admin/sppl_serversoftware), Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and PostgreSQL.

I have a client that would try deploying Efficy on a cloud environment using Azure SQL.

Would this work ? Do we need some special work-around ?
Or is it just not possible and we'll need a virtual SQL server ?

Alias Manager : cannot connect to database

Hello,

I am migrating a customer to Efficy 2021.
Everything was fine until I had to create the alias.

I am encountering an error to test the connection to the database :

Canno't connect to Database XXX.

The database is working well, I can connect through SSMS ; more, the current version of Efficy (10sp2) is working, using the exact same database.

But when I try to test the connection through the Alias Manager, I get an error.
I have the same error if I try with the v10sp2 Alias Manager ; I don't understand how Efficy can be running well whereas I can't connect to the database with admin tools...

On an onpromise server, i installed the business-data-providers.

I have the following error :

the url have been whitelisted and tls 1.2 is set.
I tested via postman and Invoke-WebRequest, and it works.

However in efficyserver.log, there seems to be a timeout:

Since Efficy 11.3 Release Build r18130, a new functionnality "grid density" appears.
The setting can be found in User Option : comfortable, intermediate, compact.

It seems in the documentation, that we can set the default User Option from SYS_SETTINGS : "gridDisplayDensity" (cf EDN : https://help.efficy.io/edn/dev/cust_definegridcolumns)

I try to find in SYS_SETTINGS the "gridDisplayDensity" option, but I cannot find it.
Should we add it manually, if so where in sys_settings should we do that ?

I have vague memories of a featured added to Efficy specifically interesting for layered installations with multiple Application Servers, allowing to set a value in the database to force invalidating all database connections on all Application Servers. They must do some regular polling for that.

Does something like this exist and where can I find more info about it?

I am doing a migration for a customer from Efficy 10.0 to Efficy 12.0.
And I am encoutering an error when I try to modify a contact then save the modifications :

ID: PRTL-1906
Message: Access violation at address 000000000064DC2C in module 'efficy.dll'. Read of address 0000000000000000
Commentaire: One of the following could be at the origin of the error:

Some of the input values are not accepted by the database
The entity you are modifying is no longer available
The database is full
An unexpected error occurred in the application

I try with an account which has FULL ACCESS in Designer, same problem.
I have restarted IIS, same problem ; checked every rights on Windows folder, they are ok.
The error appears just with Contact, saving modifications works for all the others entities.

The application server is controlled by the settings of module Slsp. A recent new setting is exitWhenStalled, by default set on 3. On cloud non-prod, this is even reduced to 1.

Hi,

I've encountered a problem with my local Efficy installations (at least 11.3 and 2021) that I'm not able to login anymore after I've installed the latest version of the Efficy Sidebar of our own Efficy.
The error that I get is the following:

Unknown reason, please contact your Efficy administrator

Member not found Error while retrieving SYS_STATES table. Please upgrade your database

When I login on the same DB on the Test server I don't get this error.
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Removing and re-installing the Efficy Sidebar didn't solve the problem. Neither did a restart of my laptop solve the problem.

When I try to create the first database from the Designer login page, I have this error at the very beginning of the process :

I think the file Alias.ini is not supposed to be there but in the Efficy folder.

For a customer, we will need to use json/api node.
Customer have actually an environnement with 2 "frontend" serveur behind a loadbalencer, and 1"webservice" serveur for soap call.

Should we use the same infrastrucure and make json/node api call to the webservice serveur to avoid session problem ?
Or is there something better to do ?

Hello,

For a client on premise i have been asked the question to provide a second efficy interface that has access to a limited set of data (this database will be a subset of the existing database and will act as a slave, it has to be a different database for legal purposes).
Version will be 11.3.

In short this interface is the same environment as the one currently active but will have it's own database (a synchronisation will be in place to synchronise master and slave) and it's own users. It will only be used to view the subset of client information and to handle those specific documents, tasks, mails, ...

What is the best practice for this sort of situation? Has this been done for other customers?
Maybe install a second efficy but only the webserver? And point it to the correct database?

Are there better options/practices for this sort of situations?

Hello,

For a client on premise (Amma) we need to upgrade their existing efficy 10SP2 to Efficy11.2.

We have a dev server where we have been testing 11.2 without any problems. But when we wanted to upgrade the production server we encountered an issue.

I was able to install efficy correctly. We were even able to reach the login page but after login this message appeared as a alert message : "class not registered, classid: {16d51579-a30b-4c8b-a276-0ff4dc41e755}"

Efficy then succesfully logins but isn't able to retreive any data (same error message inside the crm).

It seems that efficy tries to get a class id in the registry that isn't registered on the production server (seems to be jscript). It is registered on the dev server.

Is this something that the efficy installer registers or is this more linked to the local server settings?

I have recently installed Efficy 11.3 and I am doing a features review.
I think I have well understood the Dashboards and Widgets.

I am now trying to simulate a Project lifetime with the Project Management Module.
I have created one stage with two deliverables ; the first one has 3 steps and the second one 1 step.
I have assigned some users to the steps.

What I want to test now is what can users assigned see or do ?
I thought that for instance the user who is assigned as Developer could only modify the time spent on the step, until the step is complete. But I guess I did something wrong because when I log in Efficy with this user, I don't see any project in the Project consult page until I change the user selection.
Once I have selected the user who has created the Project I am able to go to the Project Management module but my Developer can do everything : edit the project, delete the project, create or edit phase, deliverable, step, etc.

What I am missing ?

What is the purpose of Efficy setting web.loadBalancing?

Efficy 11.3 has a Web setting loadBalancing. We had a issue with a developer where this setting was set to "1" and it caused very slow connection cleanup operations (or something else hidden that happened in between)

Any idea how this setting could have been set on "1"?

When this load balancing is enabled, what other settings come into play and how does it actually work?

There is simply no documentation about it.

It seems that the link in the Efficy install doc to the "url rewrite module 2" is not the good one for a Windows 10.

It generate the following Error on install

iis version 7 or greater is required to install iis url rewrite module 2

Efficy Drive available in Citrix environment?

For a customer we want to activate the Efficy Drive within a Citrix environment.
This might sound strange, but the customer needs uploading large amounts of documents (stored in Efficy) to several government sites, We want to use Efficy Drive for this purpose.

However, we cannot manage to get the Efficy Drive to appear in the Efficy sidebar environment. Is there something special we have to do during installation, or must we change some registry keys .... ?

For developing I need to debug the code locally. I have installed the server, changed the serversettings.json, registry settings are ',' and '-' for the 11.2.

It looks like the ',' isn't accepted in the server as I keep getting '42223,314134' is not a valid float. error when adding a new agenda - item. How I can change the regional settings on my application server/app pools, or per customer?

I installed correctly Efficy 11 on my VM, imported my backup DB in my SQL Server and now, I am using the Alias Manager to link my database to Efficy.

The problem is that I can't create an Application login for the database through Alias Manager, when I try, I get the following error :

Invalid object name 'ACCACCOUNTS. FROM ACCACCOUNTS ACCACCOUNTS WHERE (ACCACCOUNTS.USERCODE=:ACCACCOUNTSUSERCODE) ORDER BY ACC.ACCOUNTS.USERCODE. ---------> If i use the same login credentials as my sql server

I can't use a UNC path for large files.

On the file server, both the user used as identity of the COM+ and of the application pool have write rights on the folders.

The folder with the key of the user (2 in this case) isn't created...

How can I format a URL rewrite rule in IIS for old links:
so to redirect/rewrite links in the form of

into

would be great if somebody could help. I have Neevia PDF Converter and it works fine. But for Visio Files (vsdx) the button "convert to pdf" does not appear.

Can we add vsdx to the convertible formats? Should be just a linking, because Neevia can do it.

I tried to check the modification done on Authentication, so I checked the ACC_AUTH table, but the table is empty ... even if I can connect with the Administrator.

Is the Administrator password handled another way ?

And does the procedure for changing the administrator password change?

We just migrate to efficy 11 and I got problem with icon in class specialy with the class="i-question", is the only one that display a square with ed56 inside.
I check the efficy.css and is declare .i-question:before {content:"\ed56"} but is not display???

I have a very strange issu at a customer, I have installed Efficy and it seems working (on HTTPS) I can logon, consult entity, edit entities and modify them ... but I cannot delete it, I got the following error message ... which is not an Efficy Error message

if I remove the "javascript:top.opener.ShowDesktop(true);top.close()" from the URL it is working

I would like to know if there is any special rules / Ports on a NetWork Firewall or any other NetWork device that should be setup for Efficy to work properly

PS: I have also issue when adding Widget to the Main page, the issue is also a 403 Forbidden but in this case I don't have any Javascript in the URL

I was setting up dtsearch for a client for first time, and i found in documentation a section for keys to setup in registry as fine tuning, but one of the key was not clear enough to understand if it's really needed or not, it's called "DtSearchRetrieveSteps". Even the explanation is not that clear, at least for me. Can some one clarify more this key? and if it should be set as in the second screenshot?

Web registry settiing MaxEditOperations

There is a registry key in the web section of Efficy with name MaxEditOperations. It is set by default to 4.

To my understanding, it should limit a user session to not allowing to open more than 4 edit contexts in parallel.

Either my understanding is wrong, or the setting is not used at all. Never seen any exception about a maximum amount of edit operation...

So please, could someone explain me what this key does?

We are currently working in a big Efficy 2012 upgrade project.

The client have strong security settings and the most part of Efficy user are nomad (then GPO used is quite complicated).

According that Efficy 2012 require IE compatibility view enable and Efficy 10 require IE compatibility view setting disable, why we don't specify a meta tag to force Compatibility view disable?

I generated the the two dump files with success, then when I try to Generate de script I got an error message saying : "Unexpected DataType: ftUnknown" (see pic).

Slowness when SSO is activated

Dear all,

When you are experiencing issues concerning slowness when SSO is activated, you can check the following.

We encountered the problem when using SOAP calls to Efficy with SSO activated.

The difference between SSO and no-SSO is indeed in IIS, meaning there is an extra load of processing because of the authentication module, which involves network communications, resolving in adding extra http headers. These communication involve communication with the domain controller / active directory.

You should first measure the impacts of windows authentication with IIS without Efficy and see if you then experience a slowness.
If indeed you observe a slowness with authentication ON, then it is an infrastructure issue.

How to test:
On the web server :

Put the attached file “test.html” in a folder accessible in the website of their IIS (for example c:\inetpub\wwwroot, depending on their IIS configuration)
Activate windows authentication in IIS, and disable anonymous authentication

- Go to IIS management
- Select the website corresponding to the folder in 1
- Go to “Authentication“ area
- Disable “Anonymous authentication”
- Enable “Windows authentication”

On the client
3. Open a web browser
4. Visit the URL corresponding to the test.html in 1 (on server)
5. For more accurate measurements of speed, open Developper Tools (F12 in most browsers), go to network tab, and take measurement of the speed
Example in Chrome :

6. Repeat step 2, but inverse the authentication modes :
- Enable “Anonymous authentication”
- Disable “Windows authentication”
7. Repeat steps 3,4,5 and compare speed results with the previous ones.

If the speed is dramatically slower (bigger time value) with windows authentication enabled only, then we know that efficy is not causing the speed issue in SSO.

If they want to try running efficy without sso but with Windows Authentication:
Disable the SSO in efficy with the registry key HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\DSoft\Efficy\Web\SsoMode
Set the value to 0 and do a refresh settings.

If you try to access to efficy with an url like this https://webserver/efficy.dll/home?page=logon.htm&filebase=efficy&database=dbName

With Sso, this url will lead you to the desktop of efficy. Without Sso, you will just arrive to the logon page and you will have to manually logon.
