Did You Know? PDF Hack for Nitro Signature Tags!

Did You Know? PDF Hack for Nitro Signature Tags!

Game-changing discovery: You can add Nitro signature tags directly to PDF files without converting from Word!

The Challenge

One of our clients, recently shared their frustration with our standard process:

They were told they needed to create documents in Word

Add Nitro tags like in Word

Convert to PDF

Only then send for signatures through our module

This workflow was particularly cumbersome for their team who primarily works with PDF files.

The Solution We Discovered
During a client call, we tested a simple but effective workaround:

Open the PDF directly in Adobe Acrobat Reader

Add a text element containing the Nitro tag (e.g., )

Change the text color to match the background (making it invisible)

Save the file

Upload to Enterprise document and create a signature request

The Result

✅ Success! Nitro correctly identified the hidden tags and replaced them with signatures

✅ The client received properly signed documents

✅ No Word-to-PDF conversion needed!

Client Feedback

"Next time when pitching to clients, don't forget to tell them they can use PDF directly to include tags. This could make a big difference and avoid misguiding cases like we had."

This small change can significantly improve workflow efficiency for clients who primarily work with PDFs!

Should we use formatted memo in html reports ?

I was spending some time as one of client's report wasn't working properly.

The report is an html report that points to .htm page with some parameters.

While accessing the report the page is not loaded because an html has been injected into the src attribute.

And from what I see the ReportExec.htm (the page called to insert the report page) and it calls <%RunReportURL()%> function.

It looked like the issue was linked to MEMO. When memo is formatted the RunReportURL will inject the memo into src.

What the issue here and should we use formatted memo in reports ?

Propriety Efficy.disableCategorySecurity how it works ?

Hello,

I am not sure if I understood the behaviour of Efficy.disableCategorySecurity.

Here is an example of it in workflow:

The Everyone group has read rights only on COMP$ADDRESS.
I thought the Efficy.disableCategorySecurity will overcome the rights/security set in designer and allow to edit the field. But I am still getting error that I don’t have rights:

How and when should it be used?

Why is SYS_CALENDAR not supplemented to 2030 for example with an db-upgrade?

Why is SYS_CALENDAR not supplemented to the end of 2030 for example with an (db) upgrade?

On older created databases, SYS_CALENDAR runs only until 2020.
After several upgrades the table is still not supplemented.

My Example: RUNA is now 11.1. SYS_CALENDAR runs until the end of 2020.

Be aware: I will supplement SYS_CALENDAR on the RUNA database myself, with an script.

Second question: Does anyone know where SYS_CALENDAR is used for, other then reporting?

Is it possible to pass arguments from efficy to Qlik Sense

are thinking of a Qlik Sense integration for the client and wondering if it is possible to pass certain arguments from efficy to Qlik Sense like Current User or GroupMemberships etc.

We need to filter / display only certain data to certain groups of users.

Instructions needed on how to setup a HTML report

Hello,

I am trying to create / setup an HTML reports and cannot find any documentation about this. The only piece of information I found was an example zip in /Utilities/Examples of HTML Reports.

However the instruction there are outdated and when I try (as described in the instructions) to point to the example report file (by providing the following in Report File field: dialog?page=../custom/reports/SalesFunnel.htm), I get the following error:

Are there more up to date instruction on how to create / setup and run HTML reports? Otherwise, could somebody describe me the steps needed to do so?

Thanks!
