"New Outlook" and Efficy macOs Sidebar compatibility issue

The new version of Outlook for macOs features a new interface (not activated by default)

Users can activate this new interface from the main Outlook window:

Once this "New Outlook" is activated, the Efficy Sidebar will no longer be able to communicate with Outlook and the Sidebar buttons will do nothing.

Microsoft has not (yet) enabled Applescript in the new interface. If you are affected by this issue, don't hesitate to Upvote the following suggestion

Meanwhile, you can go back to the old interface simply by unchecking "New Outlook" on the top right of the main Outlook window.

Member not found Error while retrieving SYS_STATES table, after installing Sidebar

Hi,

I've encountered a problem with my local Efficy installations (at least 11.3 and 2021) that I'm not able to login anymore after I've installed the latest version of the Efficy Sidebar of our own Efficy.
The error that I get is the following:

Unknown reason, please contact your Efficy administrator

Member not found Error while retrieving SYS_STATES table. Please upgrade your database

When I login on the same DB on the Test server I don't get this error.
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem?

Removing and re-installing the Efficy Sidebar didn't solve the problem. Neither did a restart of my laptop solve the problem.

Announcement: patch for Efficy 11.3 build r23072

The recent build 11.3 r23072 introduced some issues, and we made some improvements including:
- Chart widgets display keys instead of names for users linked fields (like MANAGER)
- Launch template feature for documents not working
- Sidebar : avoid "Cannot Obtain Session Token from inactive session" error with Azure
- Fixed Azure integration when MFA (multifactor authentication) is activated
- Error in \lib\serverjs\utils\ extend.js
- Edit entity grid: fix disappearance of grid after CebPerform calls
- Sidebar HTTP improvements:
Avoid stacking of status long polling requests
Fix never-ending restart after loss of network in edits

A patch has been delivered and will be deployed in cloud servers.
These fixes will directly be included in 11.3 builds for revisions superior to r23319, but in the meantime, we published the patch on the FTP:

What are the current capabilities of Efficy in terms of in Efficy skype integration?

Client-side integration:
Can sidebar integrate with skype server using JTAPI protocol ?
Server verion : Lync server with client: Lync 2013 (15.0.4933.1000) MSO (15.0.4719.1000) 32-bit
Server verion : Skype For Business server with client: Skype for Business for Office 365 MSO (16.0.11328.20362) 32-bit

Can we trigger customisable WF events when different skype actions are triggered?
1. Incoming call
2. Outgoing call
- from skype itself
- initiated from Efficy (seems trivial to pass the info in front end, anything more fancy availbale? )

Server-side integration:
Skype offers possibilities to integrate web applications via different API. Do we foresee any serverside integrations in the future ?

Issues with sidebar after chrome update

Hello,

A client reported problems with efficy since release 77 of chrome (using efficy 10SP2 but will upgrade to 11.3 very soon).

Custom protocols could be checked to always use a certain program. I beleive this is also the case with efficy? (see screen below, it will be clearer)

The problem in this case is when the user even clicks on "Open Efficy", nothing happens. Even a reinstall of the sidebar didn't work.
What did seem to work was to use the url to log into efficy after wich the sidebar would open correctly.

Are there other reports of chrome users experiencing problems with this change? Do we have any fixes or workarounds to offer?

Customizing the "File import" (and the communication with the sidebarre ?)

Hello Efficy Team,

One of my customer asked me a very good question.
Could it be possible to customize the "Import file" function you can find in the projects ?

What they want is simple : if we select a folder, all files of that folder are added directly in the current project, instead of in a new project, liked to the current project. I couldn't agree more, this makes more sens.

I followed the code in standard, and my conclusion is :

treeImport.js call > fileHelperCmd.js call > fileHelper.js call > sidebar.js

The browser send TREE_IMPORT_PROCESS to the sidebar, but we cannot pass any argument. I supposed that it is hard coded : when a folder is selected, a new project is created.

I would like to avoid making a custom for that. Even if I could get all files from the selected folder and upload them one by one, asynchronously.

Anyway, i did't (yet) reply "yes" to the customer :) I don't think it will be possible, at least not in 11.3.

Did anyone already faced something like that ?

In the (Efficy 11.2 Phone/Actions section of the Efficy Sidebar options, you can see the following text:

Tip: ask your Efficy administrator to add more actions

Can anyone explain to me:

What kind of extra actions can be added ?
Can they be added by the customer themselves, or does it have to be added as a customization ?
How can it be added ?

Phone-options in Efficy Sidebar are gone after Efficy and Sidebar Update

Hi all,

after a Sidebar update, combined with an Efficy update, the phone otions in the Sidebar are gone. This means the section where I can define the actions (i.e. "create new action" ) during call activation is empty and no selection is possible.

When reviewing the sidebar.log file I have following error:
Error while retrieving the file: https://servername:port/efficy/pages/remote/DialogPhoneOperation.htm

Any hint to solve this issue would be great.

The Efficy Version is: 11.1.16658 and the Sidebar Version is 11.1.16948 with Sync.

in the current sidebar installation file (Version 11.2.16945) and I guess also in some previous 11.2 sidebar versions, I could not find the Option to install the gmail integration.

How do I install the gmail integration for Efficy 11.2 or is for a certain reason this integration now unavailable?

Solve a "older version of Efficy Sidebar [...]" cannot be removed during sidebar MSI installation

During the MSI installation of the sidebar, it is quite rare, but you can unfortunately encounter that kind of error :

This error is particularly annoying because even if you uninstall any previous sidebar installation, you will most probably still be blocked at this step.
That situation is most probably caused by a corrupted registry regarding sidebar components.

There is a new "Setup Efficy Sidebar and Add-ins 10SP2 Plus r14440" msi package available on the Partner FTP which addresses a Firefox-related certificate issue in the Sidebar.

Since Firefox 59+ for new installations there was no installation of the Root CA certificate because of a format change in the certificate DB of Firefox. Without certificate Firefox would not communicate correctly with the local web server running in the Sidebar.

The new Setup takes into account this change of format. If your customers don't use Firefox, the new Setup won't change anything.

Citrix env - Sidebar - Efficy 2014: always at '#' behind URL

Dear,

Does one of you has experience with Efficy 2014 in a Citrix environment?
The installation and configuration of the sidebar works fine but when opening Efficy with the Sidebar, a '#' is added at the end of the URL.
Because of this we get an empty page.
When we remove the # manually, Efficy is working fine.

Ideas?
